Want a vertical fancam of one performer from a group stage video? CNAPS Studio's Idol Fancam card lets you select a person and create a 9:16 cut that follows them. The task is already set up: add a video, choose the subject and framing, then click Run.
You can try 3 free runs across all CNAPS Studio cards without an account. Start with the example to see what the card does before using your own clip.
See the change from a group shot to a vertical fancam
In this example, the input shows several performers in a wide stage shot. The sample result reframes the performer in red into a vertical view, leaving less of the surrounding stage visible.
The input and sample result both run for about 26 seconds. The example changes the composition rather than turning the performance into a shorter highlight edit. Watch the movement as well as the opening frame: the useful comparison is how the selected performer sits within the crop over time.
Choose the person and framing
This card uses a subject selection rather than a text prompt. Under Advanced, open Subject, move to a clear view of the performer, and click them.
The example's saved selection is at 9.2 seconds, with Framing set to natural. Those are settings for this example, not instructions to use the same timestamp in every video. The selector says tracking runs forward from the selected moment, so choose an early, clear view for your own clip.
The other framing options are full_body, upper_body and face. Try full_body when footwork matters, or a closer option when expressions are the focus. Review the result to see whether the composition suits the movement.
How to try it
- Open the card. Go directly to Idol Fancam, or find it on CNAPS Studio Home.
- Explore the example. Play the input video and the sample result. Compare the wide shot with the vertical framing.
- Add your video. If the sample file is loaded, click Remove file, then choose your own video in Input. The file chooser lists MP4 and MOV among the supported formats.
- Select your subject. Expand Advanced, open Subject, choose a clear frame and click the person to follow. Click Apply, then choose Framing.
- Run and review. Click Run and inspect the result. Check whether the crop stays with the selected person and whether important gestures remain visible.
A few tips for your first fancam
- Start with a distinct subject. The card recommends a stage with about five or six people who look different from one another. Choose a moment where your performer is easy to identify.
- Leave room for the movement. A tight crop can cut off hands or footwork. Compare a wider framing option if that happens.
- Check the difficult moments. Review crossings, overlaps and fast movement rather than judging the output from a single still. A closer crop also makes softness in the original recording easier to notice.
Do I need video editing experience?
No workflow setup is required. The card puts the input, person selection, framing controls and Run button in one place, so you can try the task without building a flow in Studio.
